Ask A Question

Does QOFs have a minimum investment or is that up to each fund?

Can I invest in QOFs year round or is it a certain time of year that is better for tax reasons?

You can invest in QOFs year-round, and there is no minimum investment under the tax law. Minimum investments are at the discretion of each QOF.

Each fund has its own requirements. Only capital gain rollovers get Qualified Opportunity Zone benefits, so your capital gains drives your timing. Sooner is better for the deferral of tax on the gain.
