About Stephen Vlasak

Stephen Vlasak is a certified public accountant. He is currently a partner in the alternative investment practice at Richey May & Co., a Colorado-based public accounting firm with hundreds of clients in more than 40 states. In addition to working in business development, Vlasak provides audit services.

Vlasak has more than 15 years of audit experience in the commercial and financial service industries. He develops new clients for the firm by marketing its audit, tax and advisory services to hedge funds, real estate funds, private equity and venture capital funds.

Vlasak specializes in alternative investment clients, including domestic and offshore hedge funds, broker-dealers, investment advisors, commodity pools and master-feeder structures. He advises his clients on initial organizational structure, audit processes, the management of operational matters and regulatory needs.

Vlasak has worked for Richey May for more than five years, joining the firm as a senior audit manager in 2014. He previously worked for Rothstein Kass in Denver and Chicago for more than eight years. Before that, he worked for Lowey, Stolzenberg & Edelstein in New York. Throughout his career, Vlasak has been involved in the development and leadership of local office practices, including recruiting, budgeting, scheduling, forecasting and human resources.

Vlasak has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the State University of New York College at Oneonta. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association for Corporate Growth and the Global Hedge Fund Association.
