Paige Rasid is a government official. She currently serves as assistant to the deputy commissioner at the Department of Economic Community Development in Connecticut.
The Department of Economic and Community Development is Connecticut's lead agency responsible for strengthening the state’s competitive position in the global economy. Its approach to economic development incorporates community development, transportation, education, arts and culture. It was founded in 1995.
As assistant and liaison to the deputy commissioner, Rasid is responsible for the daily operations of several divisions. She also assists in special projects, research and budget control. Her specialties include strategic planning, organizational management, marketing, communications, project management, federal policy and state policy.
Before joining the department in May 2019, Rasid worked for the University of Connecticut. She helped faculty, researchers and entrepreneurs commercialize and grow start-ups. She also produced events and programs, completed grant submissions and reporting, and participated in other projects and training for entrepreneurs. She was previously chief operating officer at the Connecticut Technology Council. She has also worked as an innovation consultant for CTNEXT, considered Connecticut’s innovation ecosystem.
Rasid graduated from Simmons College with a bachelor’s degree in economics, political science and philosophy.
