Michael Sassano is the founder and CEO of Solaris Farms, an operator of high-tech hybrid greenhouses and cannabis cultivation in the state of Nevada.
Located in Las Vegas with cultivation and facility lands of more than 12 acres, Solaris Farms provides design, construction, operation management and investment services to clients in the cannabis industry. With technology-oriented and data-driven approaches, Solaris aims to minimize the cost of indoor cultivation and achieve outdoor yields. The company has a complete service chain that includes cannabis cultivation, production, distribution, research and development.
When starting his career in the cannabis industry, Sassano travelled across the world and visited about 100 cannabis greenhouses to bring state-of-the-art designs to his venture, including multi-shade systems, anti-microbial flooring, underground cooled watering and organic automatic watering systems. He connects with key investors and companies in the industry to attract investment opportunities to Nevada. Currently, Sassano also serves as the chairman of the board at SOMA Pharmaceuticals Ltd., an international research, development and distribution business focusing on cannabinoid-containing pharmaceutical formulations.
As a seasoned investor, Sassano has 23 years of experience investing in technology-oriented businesses, hedge funds, real estate, cannabis and cryptocurrencies. Prior to establishing his own business, Sassano served as a managing director and sales trader at CIBC Capital Markets in New York. He also worked at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. as an executive director.
Sassano holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston University.
