About Matt Campbell

Matt Campbell is a tax attorney. He is currently a shareholder at Hall Estill, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Founded in 1966 with its headquarters in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and offices across the country, Hall Estill advises clients on litigation and transactions. Attorneys at the firm represent corporations and organizations before state and federal courts. Their scope of practice includes bankruptcy, restructuring and creditor’s rights, general corporate legal services, intellectual property, labor and employment law, real estate and taxation.

With more than 20 years of legal experience, Campbell focuses his practice on taxation and international tax law. He counsels clients on the tax implications in mergers and acquisitions, income tax planning, state and local tax regulations, as well as international tax practice. Campbell is well-versed in various tax incentives, including the Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act and the Opportunity Zone program. He handles the establishment and taxation of venture capital and crowdfunding projects. He also assists nonprofit and charitable organizations in their applications for tax exemptions.

Prior to joining Hall Estill, Campbell served as a director at the tax planning and controversy group of FMC Technologies, Inc., a Houston-based oil and gas production company.

Campbell holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Morningside College, a master’s of law in taxation from Georgetown University, and a juris doctor from the University of Iowa.
